Today we had what was easily the first and only *super* nice day all year! So nice, in fact, that I managed to wear only a leather jacket with no scarf all day, even in the shade. That's near-tropic conditions around these parts, I tell you!
Naturally, this occasion had to be celebrated with the first "utepils" of the year. "Utepils," of course, is Norwegian for "outside beer," which is exactly what it sounds like: sitting outside while enjoying a cold beer, the company of good friends, and the rare appearance of the sun. Now that I think about it, I am somewhat surprised that we don't have a term for this ritual at home in Seattle, considering how little we too see the sun.
I for one am hoping that the warming weather is more than a fleeting trend, as it was nice to wear lighter clothes. It has been months since these jeans have seen the light of day, for example! Speaking of these jeans: they're from Never Denim at Bik Bok. I hate shopping for pants, and have tired all varieties of denim, from bargain buys to high end. But Never Denim is by far my favorite brand. They last forever, I can usually find a pair or two that fit great on the first try, and they aren't crazy expensive. If you are in Scandinavia, go try Never Denim if you haven't already. (Worth noting: I don't have an affiliate relationship with BikBok/Never Denim--I just think you need to check them out because I love them so much!).
With that said, I think I will go and do my homespa ritual before turning in for the night. Tomorrow begins a new week with new possibilities!
