In Norwegian, there is an expression that goes something like this: "Speak of the sun and it will shine!" On Monday, I wished for more warm days. Today was absolutely gorgeous, so I think I got my wish. Let's hope that it stays that way! *knocks on wood*
(Fun fact: this expression is usually used when referring to the strange phenomena of talking or thinking about someone and then having them suddenly appear in life, be it via contact, running into them, or what have you. So today I am using it in quite a literal sense, lol!).
On a completely different note, am I the only one who refuses to retire my black ankle boots when it gets warm out? Sneakers are trending hard for spring 2017, which is great news for all you Sneaker Heads out there. But what about for those of us who are die hard ankle boot fans (henceforth known as Boot Heads, because I can)? While shooting these photos, it occurred to me that not everyone will agree on the seasonal appropriateness of the footwear I chose for this look. But you know what? I love my ankle boots, and have zero qualms about wearing them all year round. Living in a cooler climate helps with this, but I have also seen quite a few LA girls rocking ankle boots with shorts. So I don't think I'm alone in my love for the boot!
Before I sign off for this time, I want to talk about how much I am loving that band T-Shirts are in again. Granted, I sometimes wonder how many people buy the shirts because they're "cool" versus how many (like me!) are just excited to incorporate their favorite bands and artists into their look. If anything, it brings awareness of some great tunes to a new generation of fans (assuming the kids take the time to look the artists up on Spotify/YouTube). Or, it could even serve as springboard for parent-child musical bonding. That has at least always been the case for my brother and I, who have inherited a love of rock through the ages due to years of exposure by our parents.
Anyhow--that's enough waxing poetic on rock n' roll and ankle boots for one day.
Have a great Thursday!
