My Uniform - With a Twist

Hello!!

What day is it today?  Oh yeah, it's Hump Day! (Or Small Saturday as they say here in Norway).

That was admittedly very silly.  But I couldn't help myself!  Today, I realized that it had been a while since my last outfit post, so I decided to share what I lovingly refer to as my uniform.  What is a uniform, exactly?  Well, I feel like everyone has one, or at least, everyone should have one.  A uniform is basically a winning combination of pieces that: 1. The wearer has readily available and can just throw on in a pinch and 2. Makes the wearer feel absolutely fierce every time he or she just throws on said pieces.  Basically, a uniform serves as an individual's power ensemble--a go-to combination that always makes him or her feel great.

Personally, my "uniform" consists of any combination of the following:

1. Tight fitting, high-waisted black pants
2. A T-Shirt, usually with a deep v-neck in either white or black.
3. My (f)leather jacket that you all are probably tired of seeing me wear because I wear it literally all. The. Time.
4. Statement shades
5. A great pair of leather boots/other nicely made shoes

Today, I decided to spice my usual go-to pieces up with these great flats in bright blue suede.  I scored a great deal on them a few years ago (back in my other life working in the oil industry), and love how versatile and fun they are.

After spending the better part of this week basically looking like a thumb with my hair pulled back and minimal makeup, I decided that today I wanted look and feel freaking fabulous.  I wasn't feeling particularly creative on the outfit front, so I went for the winning combination that I know never fails--my uniform, plus my sassy flats.  Uniforms are great for days like that, even if all you have planned is a few errands and a trip to the farmer's market.  Added bonus: a uniform* works great for travel, too, as the pieces are easy to mix and match.

*How many times can I say "uniform" in one post? Maybe someone should make a drinking game. Ha!

Do you have a uniform?  If so, what are your go-to pieces?
